dear friends, what is the different between indirect speech and reported speech?? thankss

They are the same. It is just 2 ways to say the same thing.
Direct speech - is the quote - what the person actually said - "I like pizza."
indirect or reported speech - is someone repeating what someone said.
She said that she liked pizza. |

Hi, there. If you don �t mind, I think that "reported speech" refers to both direct and indirect speech. How? "reported" adj from the verb to "report" which means to bring sth (here a piece of speech) from sb to sb else. Thing we can do either in a direct or indirect manner. "I am happy," John said. = I am reporting what John said. John said that he was happy. = It �s always I reporting what John said. Isn �t it????
