WOD--Daffynition for Week 28, 2020
|
Thanks to Gurnoor for choosing my daffynition. Here is the newest word for you to ponder and make us laugh: EUCATASTROPHE Lets see what youve got. I really like this word, I hope it is not a repeat....if it is have fun anyway (or let me know and I will change it--no problem). Douglas |

Well, with the word cat in it, its gotta be about a cat eu = European Union Cat = the masters in the world of domestic pets
astrophe = the feeling of being stuck on earth So of course, it is a European feline feeling stuck on earth when it would rather be floating way above the earth

A eucatastrophe is a problem that often occurs in student writing. In the eucatastrophe the writer has forgotten to place appostrophes. The problem gets better in the higher grades as the level of education increases. euca- related to education, educate (just kidding. I just made that prefix up) catastrophe - disaster

ITS QUITE SIMPLE REALLY, JUST BREAK UP THE WORD INTO ITS COMPONENT PARTS. SO, EUC + ATAST + ROPHE = THE KETTLE + IS + BOILING. SEE? SO SIMPLE! OH, YOURE WELCOME! ANYTIME! :) |

As one of my last actions before starting my 4-week vacation, I am tasked to choose a winner. Thanks for the creative contributions, but there can only be one and ....
Maryse is the winner!
Have a great weekend/month, Douglas
