Empty Fridge Idiom
|
Dear colleagues,
Theres an idiom in my language which means that the fridge is empty. Translated directly, it sounds like A mouse has hung itself. Its humorous, of course :) Is there an idiom in English that means the same? Like, theres no food left.
Thanks in advance! |

We say "not a sausage." I suppose if we are talking about money, we can say "poor as a church mouse." |

As empty as an English teachers bank account? @ TeacherARG - Please pm me the politically incorrect "as empty as ..." idiom. My mind is completely boggled. |

My granda used to say when there wasnt anything nice to cook: The dogs is (sic) not barking tonight. I think the cupboard is bare is good. |
