@Lynne: If I am not mistaken, that wonderful little quote is taken from a Blandings short story. Here is another one,

Kind of puts the "Scott" into "Scottish."
Oh, and just in case you have a moment, here is Martin Scorsese talking about
Colonel Blimp. It gets a little flag wavy at the end, but a lovely film about friendship.
