Sharing Idea of Using Jokes as Learning Tool

I have been teaching small groups of Chinese students and stumbled on the idea of having a "Joke of the Day". I got a list of "Dad Jokes" and curated them for usability and start the class with one. Jokes help students learn how to express themselves in English in a more natural setting (than reading a text aloud, for example). I ask students to tell they jokes to their parents and report back if their parents laughed. I ask them to repeat last weeks joke, etc. Some Dad Jokes rely on puns and wouldnt work translated while other jokes would work in any language. It is interesting to see what students find funny. Here are some examples of what I mean.

What do you call a tiger with three eyes? A t i-i-i ger.

What do you call a bear with no ears? A B

What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh

Why do birds fly? It is faster than walking.

Thanks. Thats a good idea to make a little quiz out of jokes.

I like doing something similar with cracker jokes at Christmas.

You could also have fun with some Halloween-themed jokes.
Why didnt the skeleton go to the party? Because he had no body to go with!
What kind of witch lives at the beach? A sand witch! (etc)

The idea that jokes can be used as a learning tool is actually a brilliant one. It makes the process of learning easier, more enjoyable, and more effective! The reasons are very simple Jokes are mostly funny which means they dont put pressure on us to learn them, but at the https://sonomasun.com/2021/05/18/top-5-criteria-for-selecting-a-reliable-essay-writer-service/ site which students can manage their tasks. Keep it up!
