Hi colleagues! Is correct to write in a lesson plan for example a sentence like that: in groups, my students are to do some activities and write a paragraph..? I mean isit correct to use the structure are+to+verb ?

Yes, it is grammatically correct to say that. It would be like saying "Students are to sit quietly at their desks."

Yes, it is not only correct, but common when writing instructions.
