I m wearing a coat in winter? Is it Ok?

Is it possible to ask the question "What are you wearing in winter?" and answer "I am wearing ... in winter" May be in spoken English its alright but it sounds a bit strange for me. Or should we ask "What do you wear in winter?" and answer "I wear ... in winter" or other season Thanks for help |

The Present Continuous is for action that is happening now. If you use the phrase "in winter", then you are talking about a period of time, not just now, so it isnt correct to ask "What are you wearing in winter?". Yes, "what do you wear in winter?" is correct. Bruce |

In exceptional circumstances maybe you could say it. For example, here in Galicia it has been an exceptionally mild winter. I could say: "Im not wearing my duffle coat this winter." Its a bit odd I know, but I think it is a poosiblility. The logical thing would be to say I havent worn my duffle coat this winter. |

The question was about "in winter". When you say "this winter", it is talking about now, so that is the usual use of the Present Continuous. Bruce |
