- on the agenda as in "that issue was on the agenda";
 
- on the alert as in "he�s on the alert for pickpockets here";
 
-  on the ball as in ??? (my electronic dictionary has defined this one as quick to respond to new ideas );
 
-  on the basis of smth, of course;
 
-  on the contrary as in "on the contrary, she�s getting better!"
