I completely agree with Bruce. The easiest way of recognising a passive voice sentence is to have the verb "to be" as auxiliary verb plus the past participle of the main verb - (Example: passive - "John was given an interesting book"). The active voice would be: Someone gave John an interesting book. |

Bruce is right - as usual;-) but I think I am, too. Forget �to be,� the only way to make that sentence passive is to replace collection with to be collected. |

Well, Lynne, since the main verb of the sentence is "will be", I would say that your change has a passive phrase (ready to be collected) in it, but the sentence is still active. Bruce |
