"Whose" in reported questions. Help please!
 
Ok. Here is one that FCE (Cambridge exams) do not include in the right answers. However, it might be right.
Sentence transformation exercise
 
Original sentence:  I cannot think who this pen belongs to.
Answers included in the key: I have no idea whose pen this/it is.
 
Is the following correct?
 
I have no idea whose this pen is.
 
While it sounds ok to me, I haven�t found a grammar book including an example like the latter.

Looks good to me. I�m not sure about grammar books but it is in the dictionary as having that meaning:

Hello Zoi,
I think your sentence is correct. The question is " Whose pen is it?" and since it is reported speech, it becomes I have no idea whose pen it is.

Yes Maryse we can say that.
 
As for "I have no idea whose this pen is." It sounds real strange to me. I can�t say if it is technically  wrong or not, but I suspect it is right (especially if Lynne/cunliffe says so).
