Body parts and disabled children

Dear fellow teachers,

Would you be willing to share with me what ideas you have successfully implemented when teaching body parts and there were disabled children in the class?

Also, how do you best integrate disabled children into TPR activities?

Warm regards from Germany,
Regina

A lot will depend on the ability your pupil has.
TPR may not be appropriate, but you can use activities which are dynamic and fun but dont involve physical movement.

For body parts, I like using pictures of different aliens and monsters for comprehension. You can find 10 or 12 funny pictures and number them. You can start with closed questions (Which creature has only one eye?) or semi-closed questions (How many legs does creature 6 have?), then move to open-ended activities like 20 questions or true/false statements to guess each others creatures.
How about creating a rhythmical chant, but not using TPR? You can point on the board to the different parts on a picture, and ask the students to chant/rap in time to the pointer, getting faster each time. E.g. "Head, eye, mouth, nose, neck, shoulder, two elbows; arm, chest, belly button, hip, knee, foot, bottom!"
