Hi teachers,
I love working with songs in the classroom because music is a universal language to which all people relate. Anyway, I ve recently discovered a new way to make a lesson working with songs even more dynamic...
The "cherry on top" or "the icing on the cake" is to watch a live performance of the song on youtube. After completing listening exercises, worksheet exercises and practice singing, the students can watch the song come alive in front of their own eyes! My students truly loved it.
Check out these live musical performances:
Celine Dion "Because You Loved Me" LIVE!
"Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion LIVE. This is from her Live in Memphis Concert.... a very VERY unique performance of celine singing this song plus, watch her sing with the crowd!!! ENJOY!!!!"
Stevie Wonder "I Just Called to Say I Love You" LIVE!
"STEVIE WONDER Live in Japan : he said in japanese," Doumo Arigatou" (means thank you so much) and "Totemo Aishiteru" (means I love you very much)"
Stevie Wonder "I Just Called to Say I Love You" on The Cosby Show--SO FUNNY!
"Stevie wonder singing "I just called to say I love you" on the cosby show "
If you re in need of a "ready to go" activity I have created some printables to work with these songs in particular.
I hope some of you might find this post helpful. I just had so much fun so I couldn t help but share this with you.
