My principal wants some "Egnlish Presentation" for the parents, so I prepar

some stories for my students.   Then she also wants something special and

surpries for parents.  So I prepar songs 、 dancing show and some cookies 、

Now ~ she wants me to "Opening Remarks "!?

     What s Opening Remarks ?

Is that means I can say anything what I want to say ?

But the truth is the parents don t want the truth !

They only want to listen something good ~ ~

     What can I do ?

If you er the parents , what do you want to hear from the teachers ?

Or being the teacher , what kind words you want to say to the parents ?

Or should I say something like :

thank you everyone ...... your support is very important to me ......etc.

Opening remarks about teaching or about mother s day?

Opening remarks refers to a small speech or introduction to start a programme.  If you are having them visit the school then just before all the lessons start or the exhibition the participants will gather together to hear an introduction.  Usually it is a short speech welcoming all the people and introducing what is going to happen.  To do this in English will show that your school is serious about using the language for real communication.

Hope this helps

Sounds like your principal wants you to make some opening remarks for the Mother s Day event. As Logos pointed out, "Opening Remarks" is just a small speech to open the party.
It doesn t have to be long because the audience probably has limited English anyway.

Here is a brief outline of what Opening Remarks usually consist of:

Welcome

What you are going to do

Don t panic Melissa,

A short opening speech would do the trick. As they are parents, they would love hearing something  positive and  funny aobut their  little ones. Perhaps some  examples of  real situations  in the classroom that you think worth the try. Remember not to mention names, so that  all will be pleased. GOOD LUCK!
