G D Morning/G D Evening to all members of this wonderful site!
Today is a Holiday in Portugal (on this day in 1974, the Portuguese
regime changed from an authoritarian dictatorship to a democracy
to put it simply) and it s a beautiful sunny day in the Azores.
Wish you all a wonderful day!

25th April, 74
It is said that when the soldiers saw so many people ready to fight for Freedom, they put a red carnation in their guns and refused to obey the orders to shoot the crowd. Since then, the red carnation is one of the symbols of freedom in our country.

Happy Holiday Mena and Doroteia and all the members from Portugal.
The story about the carnation in the guns is very touching. We have a song for peace that states that we wish we had flowers instead of guns.
