YouTube category

Hello all.

I and a growing number of teachers are using youtube for our classes. The amount of material available is huge, we can also download them, copy them onto CD and use them with the average DVD player. Can we have a youtube or Video category, so all of us can search them easily.

So victor please set up a video / youtube category for us.

If you have real player (can be downloaded for free) then there is a facility to download videos from Youtube as part of the software.

Hello Nikita, Logos suggestion with the real player works perfectly. If you have none though you might wanna try this way:

Just add kiss between www. and youtube in the hyperlink. Then click search, and this will lead you to another window from which you can download that particular video.

So, a link that reads http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0pb0BKODBQ on the YouTube website would read http://www.kissyoutube.com/watch?v=l0pb0BKODBQ to make it downloadable.

Hope either Logos approach or mine gets you the results you desire. Wink

Its easy Nikita.

Firstly u have to copy de address (http:www....) that appears on the right side on You Tubes page then you go to http://www.keepvid.com.  Paste the address that youve copied and download it!

I use VDownloader 0.74 (http://vdownloader.en.softonic.com/) and I am very satisfied with the product.
I have been using YouTube videos in class for more than a year now, and I can honestly say that a new category would be of great help. I myself have added only one worksheet on a Droopy cartoon, but I have many more and as soon as I make them (one by one...) smaller I will upload them - in the new category hopefully!
Daniela.

Hi all,

gone a little off topic here, buit nevermind.
To download youtube: enter free flv converter into google and go to the first site (kyoto, or something like that)

Install that, but make sure you uncheck the two check boxes that appear as they install a toolbar. Then you can use that same program to download (not only from youtube) and also convert to avi which is compatible with most computers and DVD players. Thats what I do.

Going back to the topic, entering youtube into the search on this site only comes up with 7 or 8 worksheets, but there must be more, how can I find them?

Thats why I suggested a video or youtube category. Especially now as youtube has increased the quality of the videos and most can be viewed in fullscreen, downloaded and converted to various formats. (search google with "download youtube" or "convert flv", and youll get hundreds of ways).

Thx.

On another note has anybody tried this site?

Im at work at the moment so I cant see the videos, but it looks OK. What do you think?

Thankyou all for your suggestions!!! Embarrassed Ill try them and let you know later. I really hope we can have  this category, theres so much material to work with and it would be easier in this way.
