I see what you mean. So you you want to know a way how you can make your worksheet unmodifiable.
Well, for me, I will never upload an unmodifiable worksheet unless I am forced to do so by any means. I prefer my worksheet to be modifiable because that may help the teachers who download it to modify what they like in it so as to make the ws fit for their activity. I don t like it sometimes when I download a worksheet which seems to be nice or even excellent, but one/some of its sentences, pictures, exercises or whatever may need to be changed to suit my students level or cultural background ... etc, so if the worksheet is unmodifiable, then I have to spend a lot of time using some specific softwares to be able to modify it, which is a head-ache and time-consuming.
So why to upload an unmodifiable worksheet and make the others suffer when you are able to help them and make things easier for them?
Well, that s my point of view and that s a question for you and for everybody here who upload similar ws. I hope somebody answers me. And if I m wrong or if there s any strong reason that I ignore, I ll be happy to get informed.
I just thought that we are here to help each other rather than being selfish because I don t really understand why some teachers strive for making their ws unmodifiable while it would be downloaded and used by the others.
Have a good day

Abdul, How the heck did you come up with that conclusion from what he wrote? Where did he say he didn t want anyone to modify the ws? I know your problem now: you CAN T read English. YOU THINK you can but you don t understand the words.
So why to
upload an unmodifiable worksheet and make the others suffer when you
are able to help them and make things easier for them?
AGAIN, jumping to conclusions. YOU made a whole argument based upon a misinterpretaion. However, that is what you are good at.
I hope somebody answers me.
I did, so live with it!!!

Spagman63 I will answer your reply and suggest that you need to be a little more polite with your answer.
The problem I think Roem is referring to is that they wish to be able to modify worksheets that they download and NOT how do I create unmodifiable worksheets.
The reason why some worksheets are presented as pictures, rather than being edited in Word is that they are sometimes prepared in other word processors such as Publisher. It is not easy to convert a publisher file to a .doc and keep the same formating and so it is far easier to take a screen shot of the exercise and then save it as a .jpg file and simply insert it into a Word Document.
I personally prefer, as I believe Roem does too, to be able to edit the worksheets I download and do not like this practice. But for some it is unavoidable.
Be thankful you have a free worksheet. The fact you cannot edit it is a minor inconvenience.
Making statements like "that is what you are good at" sounds extremely rude and not in the spirit of contributors to the forum.

Yes logos is right, except that with a PC you can do virtually anything. You can edit an image:
The hard way, open paint and eraze the text. Then rewrite the text you want. This takes ages and isn t very good, but works OK.
The easy way: Use microsoft document imaging. /this is the same software that allows you to scan a texts. Open the image in paint or any other image software you have. Save as a tif file (xxxxx.tif). then follow the instructions here:
It is generally already installed by default but you may have to install it using your office CD.
It can be quite tedious as you have to visually check the words are the same, but it will save you time and then you can edit it in word to your heart s content. |

You really have a big problem. Hurry up! Visit a specialist before its too late, man!
I just hope you to be as normal as most teachers on the site. You are much older than me, but you still haven´t learned how to be polite with the others. You are just ruining your reputation on the website!
I just wonder how do you treat your students and even your family?
Anyway, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Best wishes
Abdelhadi
P.S. If I didnt get Roems point, its not because I dont understand English LOL! Im teaching the language, and probably better than you do, but the problem is that the English in Roems comment is not clear. Still, the argument that I came up with is something that should be discussed in the forum.

I told you days ago that Im not into quarrels. Im a teacher! Im here to help and get help. In other words, Im not a spag-hetti-man who is deeply interwoven, rude and full of complexes.
I dont think this website is suitable for you my dear. There are many sites where you can go to exchange insults and relieve yourself.
I gave you the last chance to change your impolite behaviour with me and with many members on this site, but since you still stick to your low quality behaviour, then Im sorry to inform you that from now on you are ignored! And thats what people like you deserve!
I wish this site was cleaner, but this is life!

Abdul, Why do you ALWAYS have to give your opinion? I think you are too nosey. You want to show everyone how "intellectual" you are. BTW. YOU started all of this. If you had minded your own business and not commented on my post this would never have started. AND, I ignored you AGES ago. :)
