HAPPY TEACHERS DAY

Happy happy happy Teachers Day!
Today I had the most incredible experience!!! A group of Chilian Teenagers organised a celebration for Teachers Day to thank their teachers for all of their time and commitment to their learning.
The students organised a feast, apples for the teachers with wonderful messages attached, and then presented each teacher with a carnation and escorted the teachers to the gym. The students had made a pathway (lined with clapping and cheering students) that the teachers had to make their way through before being seated and treated to a wonderful concert of singing and dancing. The students then held an awards ceremony giving out funny and wonderful awards to the teachers.
I have never experienced anything quite like this. It was like finding yourself inside a wonderful and inspriational movie! It really made me feel quite wonderful and so happy that I decided to become a teacher!
These young people really demonstrated to me what the world is all about. What a wonderful experience that I just had to share with you all!
So from me to all of you wonderful and dedicated teachers
An apple for each teacher....
And a flower....
HAPPY TEACHERS DAY!!! |

I envy you so much Vickiii! We dont have anything like Teachers Day in France!!! French teachers are mere servants of the State...
To my French fellow teachers: do you think we should ask Mr Darcos (Mr. Darcos is our Secretary / Minister of Education; his nickname is also Darth Vader!!!) about creating something similar? Ah! Ah! Ah!

Happy Teachers Day Everyone :-)
Here in Israel we dont have Teachers Day either Frenchfrog...
The municipality sometimes organizes an evening (dinner + speeches + ) to the teachers in its area :-)

Anyway HAPPY TEACHERS DAY TO YOU!!

For me it was totaly unique - I have never heard of teachers day being celebrated in New Zealand and although my students were wonderfully sweet and wonderful kids (often bringing a flower for their teacher :)) I just could not imagine kiwi kids doing quite this sort of amazing event! I do like my adoted country Chile! |

We used to have a special teachers day... long time ago when I was a student. Now as Frenchfrog and Marshmallow say we have nothing but complaints. I remember bringing flowers to our teacher, Oh sweet memories. Nowadays the only thing they bring is disobedience, lack of respect and laziness... However happy days to those who can celebrate it. Im so jealous |
