because and as - help

how can I explain the difference between because and as. like: I went to bed because I was tired - I went to bed as I was tired.
I know they are not always interchangeable but when aren t they? what s the difference? Thanks

Sorry - was leaning on keyboard!
e.g. As I m really tired, I m going to bed now (focus on I m going to bed now).
as opposed to: I m going to bed now because I m really tired (focus on I m really tired).
Any help? |
