WOW..... I am utterly speechless this morning... I really feel for those who have had worksheets published in other peoples blogs without permission... but especially for those that have been uploaded to scribd. I have also left a comment on the newer blog that has your worksheets uploaded on scribd...
I know whenever I have ever used a worksheet I have always mentioned that I am a part of an awesome english site where we share our work and this one is by XXXX etc.....to upload someone elses work in the public domain, sometimes crediting the person or even worse passing it off as your own... just leaves me with a sick feeling in my gut...
This is such a wonderful site.... but yet again some people cannot play fair!..... and could possibly end up hurting the members that we respect and love the most.

Good morning my friends:
I must confess that I am no longer surprised
A few days ago I was informed about a situation and I want to share it with you
It is almost normal that from time to time find one of my Worksheets shared by another person, without my consent.
But this time we are talking about 90% of my blog copied letter by letter, picture by picture ... and without reference to the author... I wrote an e-mail to this person and all I got was a link back to my blog saying something like this Taken from the best blog I know THIS ONE..
This is why I came to the conclusion that we cannot do more than send an e-mail and pray for the author to understand our position
There are many people who have not understood that in each of the Worksheets that we share here or in our blogs are the result of hard work and dedication that makes me feel really sad and angry and the worst is that I do not know if there is anything we can do to avoid this kind of attitude..
Hugs

Hello there! first if all i would like to thank CynW for sending me a message telling me about the worksheets. The thing with my worksheet is that is slightly different, she changed it a bit, but the lay out is the same, so i dont really know if i can say something to her.
what do you think?

I would just like to say something. I understand everyone s anger. No doubt about how wrong the stealing of other s materials is - but............................. to Mar and many of our beloved contributors
Please don t stop contributing here at ESL. Why must we pay the price because a handful of idiots are unethical? That s like punishing the good guys!!!
Let s support each other against this kind of theft, but punish those who deserve it and not all of us who love your stuff! Together we re strong - divided we fall.

I do think it s a little to easy to put somebody else s work on a blog and then apologize and remove it when the person becomes aware of it because the cheater takes credits for something he or she didn t do. Not only do they take advantage of the hard word of somedy else but they also take credit for stealing. To be honest, even with asking permission, it is not fair to put someone else s work on a blog. It s the same for an picture when people don t give permission. Isn t there anything that can be done like a sort of complaint to the police or a webmaster ? |

THAT S IT, Lisa!Together we re strong - divided we fall. Since we decided to upload our work here, there is a possibility for a theft of our work! That is the price we pay for the opportunuty to share and get the best esl resources from all other the world. Personally I am ready to "pay" and I promise not to stop contributing to this site because those people who share my ideas and ethic are worth sharing with!!! The minority of dishonest "teachers" deserve to be punished and Victor should cancel their accounts. We must cooperate and let him know about all facts of injustice and stealing! Svetlana

I have just been aware of the situation and I am angry! How easy it is to make a blog with wonderful worksheets and let people assume that this work is all yours !! Of course I am going to write to these people to tell them what I think about it !! I remember that someone (Sorry I don t remember who ) suggested that the mention "ESL PRINTABLES" appears on each worksheet. Although this doesn t give credit to the author, at least it shows that it was taken from another website. And wouldn t it be possible to add something like "personal use only. This printable cannot be published" ? I am not a computer expert so I don t know if that is possible moreover we must make sure that people should not be able to modify or erase this mention. Victor, what do you think about it ?

You took the words right out of my mouth Svetlana! There is always a risk - and I guess we have to live with that - but what we get in return here at ESL is so huge that I, too am willing to pay the price! Thanks! L

I can t belive. Of course Victor should cancel their accounts, but it s not enough, they can open other. The ruler are the ruler we can use this worksheet in our class, but not in an open or public blog, and less without the author s permission |
