GO FISH CARD GAME
GO FISH IS A GREAT GAME TO LEARN NUMBERS, COLORS AND IMPERATIVE TENSE.
FIVE CARDS ARE DEALT TO EACH PLAYER. THE REMAINING ONES ARE PLACED FACE DOWN IN A PILE.
A PLAYER STARTS. HE CHOOSES ANY PLAYER AND ASKS FOR A SPECIFIC CARD. FOR EXAMPLE: "MARY, GIVE ME ALL YOUR GREENs". NATURALLY, YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE AT LEAST ONE CARD OF THE COLOR YOU ASK FOR.
IF THE OTHER PLAYER HAS ANY CARDS YOU REQUESTED, SHE MUST GIVE YOU ALL OF THEM.
IF YOU GET ONE OR MORE CARDS FROM THE PLAYER YOU ASKED, YOU GET ANOTHER TURN. IF NOT, THE PLAYER YOUīLL TELL YOU "GO FISH". THEN YOU DRAW THE TOP CARD FROM THE DRAW PILE. IF ITīS A CARD FROM THE COLOR YOU ASKED FOR,SHOW IT TO THE OTHER PLAYERS AND YOUR TURN CONTINUES. OTHERWISE, ITīS THE NEXT PLAYERīS TURN.YOU ADD THE DRAWN CARD TO YOUR HAND.
THE NEXT PLAYER IS THE ONE WHO SAID "GO FISH". WHEN YOU COLLECT A SET OF FOUR CARDS OF THE SAME RANK, IMMEDIATELY SHOW THE SET TO THE OTHER PLAYERS AD PLACE THE FOUR CARDS FACE DOWN IN FRONT OF YOURSELF. THAT IS A MATCH.
THE GAME CONTINUES UNTIL EITHER SOMEONE IS OUT OF CARDS OR THE DRAW PILE RUNS OUT.
THE WINNER IS THE PLAYER WHO HAS THE MOST MATCHES. FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN, YOU CAN DEEM MATCHES A PAIR OF A COLOR.
