4 Games of Jeopardy
This is based on the tv game show Jeopardy. Write the category titles on the board with the numbers 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 below each category. Divide the class into 3 groups. Ask any random question to determine which team goes first. The first team to raise a hand answers first, if they answer correctly they get to choose which category and point value question will be asked next. Teacher reads the quesion, the first team to raise a hand gets first chance to answer. If they answer correctly they are awarded the points, teacher should cross out that value under the appropriate category (so that may not be chosen again), and they get to choose the next question. If they answer incorrectly the other two teams have the opportunity to answer. If no team answers correctly the teacher gives the answer, crosses out the question spot on the board and the next choice goes back to the original team to choose again. Winner = team with most points or you may want to add a final Jeopardy question. Before hearing the final question each team must bid/wager points (upto as many as they have but not more or zero), have them write the number on a paper secretly and hand it to you, the teacher. Then read the final question aloud, each team should quietly write their answer on a paper then turn it in. If the team answers incorrectly then they lose the points they wagered, if they answer correctly then they add the points they wagered.
