Welcome to
ESL Printables,
the website where English Language teachers exchange resources:
worksheets, lesson plans, activities, etc.
Our collection is growing every day with the help of many teachers. If
you want to download you have to send your own contributions.
Make sure the students have studied the phrasal verbs abd are familiar with them before playing the game otherwise it might be tedious.
Copy or display the student grid onto the whiteboard.
Students can play in teams or individually depending on how many there are. Student choose a square, teacher reads out the definition and the student has to give the complete phrasal verb to win the points.
If a wrong answer is given the opposing teams can shout the answer.
Cross off the squares as they are answered correctly.
Lasts about 30 minutes but this depends on how well they know their phrasal verbs.
