Speaking Card Game
My students love to play this version of go fish. I laminated the cards and kids play the game even on their free time.
First I taught them the sentence stems and their meaning; I have a ladybug, Do you have a ladybug, Yes I do, No I donīt.
Then we can play the game.
For those of you familiar with Go Fish....no need to read further. Play the game using the sentence stems.
Deal out the cards so each student has an odd number like 5 or 7 (depending how many cards you print). Explain to them to put down their matches. Any colour cards can be matched with any bug, but not with eachother (cause that would be a waste of that card). The first student must ask any other student if they have (name one of the cards in their own hand). Students must answer, yes I do, no I donīt. If they do they give their card away. If student 2 doesnīt have the card, student 1 must pick up a new car (if it matches any of their cards they can put it down. Play continues to the next player
