Coin flick game - base and strong adjectives
This is a simple yet effective game.
This particular template goes along with my other contribution the PPT with base and strong adjectives and is a follow-up exercise to the said powerpoint presentation.
br>
Procedure:
(I usually put printed handouts in plastic document pouches - not to waste the paper)
Depending on group size Ss work in pairs/groups of three.
First Ss revise the strong adjectives and write them next to their base counterparts.
I usually give them dice and tell to follow the simple instruction above the game, so the dice throw decides what type of sentence and which pronoun they have to use. It´s useful to elicit some model sentences in the tense you want to practise before playing the game.
Then they flick a coin across the board to get points.
They get points when they they are able to make a proper sentence using the strong adjective their coin had stopped on.
When a S gets a point they should mark the field they used.
When not to assign a point:
-the sentence that a S has come up with is incorrect
-the coin is inbetween the fields (or less than 3/4 of it´s surface on one of te fields)
-the coin is outside the board
If the coin stops on an already used field the flicking S misses their turn and the other one has their chance.
