I get SS to work in pairs for this activity. Each pair receives a cut-up "worksheet". Their task is to match the sentence halves to discover superstitions. It´s a fun activity because some of the superstitions are quite strange, or somewhat funny, while others - just plain dumb! After they do the matching, I try to elicit rules for the first conditional and discuss any questions they might have. And then? Practice...
