Teaching the First Conditional
This worksheet was designed to accompany a ´science experience´ to teach the first conditional. I saw this ´experience´ in a workshop some years ago, so I don´t know which the original source is. If you do, please let me know. The experience is as follows: bring a large glass to the classroom (in fact, a large transparent bowl is better). Fill half of it with water. Show the objects (see worksheet) and elicit their names from the students. Ask them: "If I drop _____________, will it sink or float?" They fill in exercise 2 before you drop the object and then check if they were able to guess the answer correctly. When the ´expereince´ is over, ask students to fill in exercise 3. I hope it is useful!(P.S.: Exercise 1 was designed to pre-teach vocabulary.)
