Classroom Language: Communicative Board Game. (Requests and Permission)
A communicative language game to practise asking for permission and makng requests; for example: "Please may I stand up?" This is an effective and engaging way to teach and practise classroom language. I changed the usual board game procedure to ensure that the success of the game is dependent on students speaking, thus creating a genuine need to communicate and use English. The instructions for this game are included in the printable, along with a handout and all necessary materials.
********************************************************** LANGUAGE USED (Please may I...?) stand up, go to the toilet, drink water, turn on the light fan, sleep, wash my hands, have some candy and close the door. **********************************************************
Please note that this is very versatile. With a little tweaking, you could use it to practise almost any other
question involving the activities: for example: "Did you stand up?"; "Are you going to....", "Can you..", "could you..." and so on.
