Future Tense with Will: song "you´ve got a friend" by Carole King
A listening activity for the Future Tense with Will. Students listen to the song and insert the correct answers (in order: I will be, I´ll come, I´ll be, you´ll hear, I will, they´ll hurt). You could have a discussion afterwards about why will is used instead of going to. Also good to do is discuss afterwards "ain´t," what it means and why it´s not correct English grammar. There are two copies of the song on each page to save paper when photocopying. Warning: the level is pretty easy, so I wrote that it is good from age 12 and up, but if you have a rambunctious teenaged group, they will very possibly give you grief over the "boring" and "folky" song, as some of my groups have in the past. But plenty more groups really like it and it´s good because Carole King sings very clearly and slowly.
