Making Requests: Will, Would, Could, Can, Would you mind....? worksheet

This grammar lesson focuses on making polite requests by using will, would, could, can, and would you mind while simultaneously incorporating the theme of houses and homes and taking care of your home. the first page as five discussion questions plus some information about house-sitting. A mock letter from a home owner to a new house-sitter is also icluded on the front page with the grammar structure highlighted in bold. Three seperate exercises are also included which will help the students to discover the grammar point by under-lining the target sentence structures. Exercise 2 deals with answering politly in the affirmative and negative by choosing the best response to the situation mentioned above. finally exercise 3 is a role play exercise. three seperate scenarios are included which work well for groups of 2 but could easily be adapted for a group of 3. Students should choose one of the scenarios and act out the situation ,either by writing a script or by ad-libing, in front of the class while being encouraged to use the target grammar
