GRAMMAR AUCTION
Grammar auctions are a wonderful way to review grammatical topics in the classroom while putting a bit of fun into proceedings. Split the class into teams and give them $1000 (fake money or tokens) then tell students they must buy only the correct sentences. It´s best to keep minimum bids to $50 or they may never leave the class! The team that buys the most correct sentences will win. Extension activity - students can then correct the incorrect sentences with explanations! Don’t forget to use an auction vocabulary: bids, ‘going, going, gone’, ladies and gentlemen, etc. Enjoy!
