Grammar auction
I´ve borrowed the type of activity from ´English file 2´ OUP, but I´ve chosen my own sentences & made the format somewhat different. SS in pairs. They have 1,000 pounds to spend & have a try to buy the correct sentences in an auction. Sm of the sentences are ok and sm are incorrect. If they think a sentence is ok they can bid 2 buy it. They record the price they’ve paid 4 each on their form. Bids start at ₤50, the 2nd is ₤100, then 150 etc. The pair (or group) that buys the most correct sentences with their 1,000 pounds are the winners. This works really effectively as a revision at the end of the year when ss have already seen different grammar points.
