Intro to phonemes
This is for upper-int students who wish to learn the phonetic chart. Pairs first do the puzzle, guessing the word from the sounds. Students then guess the words and match them with their definitions. Pairs then orally gap fill the phonetic chart, making the underlined sound for each phoneme. Then, read the poem to the class, asking class to beat out rhythm. The whole class then reads it, then in pairs. (you could ask the class to perform it). Students then put all the underlined words in the poem in the correct place in the table.
