This is an activity to follow the guide I uploaded on short and long vowels. It is a list of pairs of words which look similar but are pronounced differently. In every pair one of the words has a short vowel sound and the other has a long vowel sound. I normally have students work in pairs, one says the first word, then the other one says the second word; then afterwards they can swap and do it the other way round.
