Phonetic Transcription Exercise (American English)
First divide you students in pairs or small groups, they should find out what is written by transcripting the phonetic script provided. There are 4 different texts from different levels of difficulty (vocabulary). You may distribute randomly or according to the level of each student if you have a mixed abilities class like mine. The students may have the IPA chart and a dictionary on hands to query. Key included.
