My adult classes have had great fun with this exercise. Cut up the sentences. Give one to each student who reads it out and the rest have to write it. They are non-sensical on purpose so that the writers canīt use their logic to guess the words. Focus is on L and R, and M - all of which are problematic for my Spanish speaking students. It demonstrates very well how poor pronunciation sometimes makes it impossible to be understood. The speakers are often very surprised when the writers havenīt got a clue what has been said.
