Have You Ever...?
Mingle Speaking Activity. Good for getting everyone talking, even the quiet ones!
Played in a similar way to Find Someone Who, students move around the classroom asking different people the question: Have you ever...? using the information listed. Students must change the verb in parenthesis into the past participle to complete the question. E.g (go) to Canada --> Have you ever been to Canada? Possible answers: Yes, I have. / No, I haven´t. Probably worth checking all students are confident forming the past participles and are familiar with all the vocabulary. Students have to keep posing the question to different students until someone answers - yes, I have. An extension activity to challenge more able students - they can elicit more detailed answers from other students using past simple questions: E.g in the case of Have you been to Canada? Possible follow-up questions: When did you go? Who did you go with? Did you enjoy it?
Feedback answers as a whole class.
