Have got card game (questions and short answers) - Speaking Game
Target Language: Questions of Have got and Short answers.
Eg. Have you got a … ?
-Yes, I have / No, I haven¢t.
Number of players: Played in groups of 4 students
Duration: about 15¢ per round.
Materials: 1 set of cards (for one group of students) containing 4 groups of 4 same items each.
Aim: to be the first to collect a complete set (eg. have all 4 of the "curtain" cards)
Prerequisite: be honest when sb asks you about your cards; stop collecting cards when you reach 4 in your hands. When you do that, then every time you take a card from an opponent, you have to give them one too (so that eventually all players have 4 cards in their hands)
Instructions:
In the beginning, students take a card from the deck, which stays in the middle.
Players have two choices: either take a card from the deck OR ask another player whether they have the card they need. Inevitably, the deck will empty so players will eventually have to ask each other questions to get the cards they need.
