Phrasal Verb Bingo: Phrasal Verbs with In Part 1
This is easier than it looks and it really works. All my own work so you are free to alter it in anyway you see fit. How to play 1. Cut out the bingo cards below and hand them out to the class. 2. Read the list below the bingo cards aloud and tell the students not to take notes. Provide at least one example or get one of the students to provide one. After the list is done, play the game. 3. Play the game like so: Cut out the definition squares below and put in a cup. Then hand out the bingo cards and take a piece of paper at a time from the cup and read out the definition (not the phrasal verb) students must shout out the phrasal verb and those that have them must cross them off the bingo card. When a student has crossed off all the words from their card s/he should shout “bingo” to win. Repeat this 3 times. 4. When you have had three rounds of bingo, hand out and do the fill-in-the-gaps exercise below. Make them give you another example after they tell you the answers. Don’t have them fill it out in silence. When that is done hand out the fill-in-the-gaps reading exercise. Use this as an opportunity to correct their pronunciation. Check how much they remember in two weeks time. You’ll be surprised.
