Basic tenses - form and use Basic tenses - form and use

Hi, this is my first upload. I hope you´ll find it helpful. My students often get frustrated when they hear that there are so many tenses in English (O.M.G - so many different forms!! What for??!! We will talk about the present, past and future. Three tenses would be enough, etc.). I guess you know it. I decided to put some basic verb forms together to show them the similarities in their forms, and to stress that this really is all about the present, past and future. Make sure you stress the similarities in creating the forms (e.g. all the continuous forms or the same way of making questions and negatives in all the tenses) as well as in using particular teses (especially continuous). If they get the bigger picture it might all "click into place" in their minds and maybe they will find grammar a helpful tool and not a source of constat frustration. You might expand it and add future in the past or perfect forms. It all depends on the level of your your students and their awareness of the language. Next time I´ll think of sthg less serious:)
