Correct The Sentences Activity
Pretty straight forward exercise. 25 sentences, each with a grammatical error. The students are simply asked to find the error. There is no particular focus on any specific kind of error and so this activity really tests general English grammer knowledge. I made this activity for higher level grade three students (Korean) and then told them that this activity is based on 2nd year material(sentences taken from stories in a 2nd year middle school textbook). That motivated them to work at solving each sentence because they felt they could certainly handle anything the lowly 2nd graders were doing. The great thing about this activity is that the students will suggest all sorts of changes and corrections that need to be made to each sentence and as great as it is to have them make the proper correction to a sentence, when they suggest an incorrect suggestion that opens a window of opportunity for me (teacher) to quickly teach to why that particular suggestion will not correct the sentence. Anyway, hopefully this is useful to someone and if many like it I´ve got more to upload.
