Peter´s routine and Peter today
This simple text first describes Peter´s routine and then tells what he and the people in his family are doing at this moment. It provides an excellent context to introduce the Present Simple - Present Continuous contrast as the two tenses are clearly used in two separated paragraphs. At the end of the text there are a few questions to guide students to find out the difference in use of the two present tenses. It might also be used to revise vocabulary (everyday activities). I´ve used it with pre-adolescents but it can be used with adults as well.
