Sherlock Holmes case II: Past progressive
A detective story / role play activity which asks students to find the thief of a stolen painting. The students have to read the alibis carefully to find out who stole it. The ws combines reading and grammar (the past progressive). On page 2, brief rules and an exercise for past continuous are given. Hope you like it.
Key: Sam Sulky stole the painting. His alibi isn’t waterproof. Sam Sulky paid money to Tom Talent who played Hamlet for him instead. Motive: He is bankrupt. Tom’s wife found money in his coat, the bribe. Willie and One-Eyed Ben are innocent.
