Mixed Tenses Board Game
My classes love this fun way of practising and consolidating the verb patterns alternating between past simple, present simple and continuous and the future. Verbs are mostly regular with some simple irregular verbs.
Instructions
Players use a dice and counters to move around the board.
When they land on a blue square, players must roll the dice again to establish a time phrase from the top box. They must then make a sentence using the phrase in the square plus the time phrase from the box and the correct verb tense of course.
Other players can decide if the sentence is correct and if not the player΄s counter must return to the previous state of play.
Depending on the level, the teacher can vary the person used in the sentence, for example into the third person.
