This research paper is the culmination of a unit on structuring long essays and transition words. I created this project as a way to allow my level 3 ESL students to access the same advanced writing skills that American students receive in their English classes. I strongly suggest spending at least a week beforehand on scaffolding relevant skills: paragraph structure, transition words, research strategies, in-text citations, etc.
