This is a general knowledge quiz using the past tense of the verb ´to be´. In a class of 8 students I would put 4 student As at one end of the classroom and 4 student Bs at the opposite end to help each other write their 3 extra questions. Then I put 2 students from each group together (i.e., groups of 4 - 2As and 2Bs) to play noughts and crosses using the questions. Obviously, if you have this as a Word document, you can change some of the questions to make them more appropriate for your own students. This activity typically takes around 40 minutes.
