Prefix Game
This is the counterpart of previously uploaded Suffix Game. The rules are the same, however, this game also includes the definitions of the adjectives (definitions are already given to the prefixed adjectives).
The idea of this game is as follows: There should be minimum 2 players to play this game. 1. All prefix cards (prefix with the explanation) are put on the table face up in 1 row. Word cards are in a separate pile. 2. Players are handed out 6 cards (words) each (they can turn them face up in front of them on the table). 3. The first player starts with any prefix he/she wants, if has a suitable word for it. Players go one by one to match each prefix in a row. If there´s someone´s turn but he/she doesn´t have a suitable word for the prefix, they can go with a FREE card, if they have one. (A FREE card can stand for any word). 4. If a player doesn´t have a suitable word or the FREE card, they take a card from a pile until they have a suitable one. 5. When the whole row is finished, the next player to go starts the second row, etc. The game is finished when the pile is over. The winner is the one with less number of cards left.
If you have any questions on this game, please, ask. There are also lots of ideas of pre- and post- activities to this game. Use your imagination to pre-teach these prefixes and do post-play activities to consolidate the topic.
