TEACHING STRATEGIES (FLIPPED LEARNING AND GAMIFICATION)
In the flipped classroom (also known as the
reverse, inverse, or backward classroom),
instructors prerecord lectures and post
them online for students to watch on their
own so that class time can be dedicated
to student-centered learning activities,
like problem-based learning and inquiry
oriented
strategies
.17,23–25
This approach
provides instructors with opportunities
to engage a wide range of learning styles
and implement pedagogies that encourage
problem-solving during dedicated class
time. In addition, flipping the classroom
empowers instructors to develop differently
learning experiences appropriate for each
student.
