Creative Writing Activities, Part 2 - Non-Poetry
The 2nd part of a ppt presentation given at the TESOL Ukraine Conference. The following writing activities are within: Superstitions, Tongue Twisters, 6 word summary, Make a movie, and my very own Create-A-Proverb. Again, all the samples within are travel related (except a few of the Create-A-Proverb), and were made by Ukrainian students. My favorite in here is the Create-A-Proverb, an idea I created for Ukrainians, who LOVE proverbs.
The 2nd half of a ppt presentation on Creative Writing Activities I gave at the TESOL Ukraine conference. Non-poetry based, it shows how to do Superstitions, Tongue Twisters, 6 word summary, Make a movie, and my very own Create-A-Proverb.
These are completely adaptable to age, level and theme, though a bit more difficult than the poetry section.
All the examples (save for a few Proverbs) use the theme "travel" and all the examples are authentic--all were done by Ukrainian students. The Create-A-Proverb was an activity I created to address the Ukrainian obsession with proverbs and make them more creative. By far, it is my favorite activity.
My students and teachers seem to love these. I hope your students do as well!
