Essay Writing AND Strengthening ALL writing
A seminar for how to make writing better. The first part is about the 5-paragraph essay and the second part is how to strengthen your writing using Reasons Examples Names Numbers and Senses. The essay section includes tips about intros/conclusions, a sample outline, & the notes tell how I used examples to prove my answer. The second half is about using RENNS to make ALL writing stronger (Reasons Examples Names Numbers Senses). It includes sample sentences I wrote, both a before and after. (And yes, all the examples are real!) The ppt is done in a way that encourages student participation. For example, when I give the outline of the essay I ask for what reasons might someone prefer eating in a restaurant than at home, then I reveal the 3 I picked. Then I have them think of reasons why someone would think restaurant food was healthier/tastier/etc than home food. For the examples I let them think about how they would rewrite, then I revealed a revised sentence. Good luck to you!
