Sorry to answer only now...
but if if you have a datashow you can project the song while your students dance and sing at the same time. It´s a long song and they can´t memorize it all at once. therefore it can help them. Of course you have the right to think this is just to kill time like you said but for me it has a purpose. I always do this with very young children. Filling the gaps is just something they can´te really do because they´re too young.
